Psalms of Solomon

Solomon, Psalms of

Solomon, Psalms of. A Jewish pseudepigraphical collection of 18 Psalms. Though extant only in Greek (and a Syriac translation of the Greek), they were almost certainly written in Hebrew. They date from the post-Maccabean age, probably from the years 70–40 BC. The last two Psalms predict the coming of a Messiah of the house of David.
