Pryderi

Pryderi

Pryderi. Son of Pwyll and Rhiannon and the only character mentioned by name in all four branches of the Mabinogi. He disappeared shortly after his birth and was found by Teyrnon Twrf Liant and his wife, who called him Gwri Gwallt-Euryn [golden hair]. In Preiddiau Annwfn [The Spoils of Annwfn] he appears with Pwyll, saying that the prison of Gwair is well-equipped. Some of his story may have contributed to the conception of Percevel in the Arthurian legends.
