Priština

Priština (Albanian: Prishtinë), Serbia/Serbia and Montenegro Prišt in Serbo‐Croat means ‘boil’ and this may be a reference to the seething waters of the nearby River Gračanka. The city came under the control of the medieval Serbian state in the late 12th century and later was its capital until the Ottoman Turkish victory at the Battle of Kosovo Polje in 1389. It is the capital of Kosovo and is largely Albanian populated.
