Pravdinsk
Pravdinsk, Russia 1. Kaliningrad: originally the German Friedland ‘Land of Peace’ from Friede ‘peace’. It was renamed in 1946, following East Prussia's annexation by the Soviet Union, after the Soviet Communist Party daily newspaper, Pravda ‘Truth’.2. Nizhny Novgorod: developed around a paper mill which manufactured newsprint for Pravda and so named in 1932.

Pravdinsk
Pravdinsk , formerly Friedland , town, NW European Russia, formerly in East Prussia. In 1807 the city was the scene of a battle in which Napoleon I defeated the Russians, thus precipitating the fall of Königsberg and the Treaty of Tilsit. |
