potto Slow-moving African primate with large eyes and a pointed face; it is nocturnal and arboreal. The common potto has sturdy limbs, a short tail and small spines formed by the neck vertebrae. Its woolly fur is grey-red. Length: 37cm (15in), excluding the tail. Species Perodicticus potto.
