Polly

Polly

Polly, a musical play by J. Gay, published 1729, the sequel to The Beggar's Opera. Its performance on stage was prohibited by the Lord Chamberlain. The principal characters are Macheath and Polly Peachum of the earlier play, transported to the West Indies.
