Polaris (Star)

North Star

North Star (1847–64), antislavery newspaper founded at Rochester, N.Y., by Frederick Douglass. A weekly journal, it was later called Frederick Douglass's Paper and was considered a noteworthy example of contemporary journalism, irrespective of its stand against slavery. It differed from The Liberator by favoring peaceful political methods.
