PAT. PEND.An abbreviation displayed prominently on an invention for which an application for a patent has been made but has not yet been issued. The term Pat. Pend. provides notice to all that the inventor has applied to the U.S. patent and trademark office for the exclusive right to make, sell, and use his or her invention. |
