Partnership for Peace

Partnership for Peace an arm of NATO formed in 1994. It arranges exercises, exchanges, and other military contacts to encourage military reform, and it also provides for peacekeeping, humanitarian, and rescue operations. The organization has a membership of twenty-five nations, including Hungary, Romania, and Russia. Russia joined the group in June 1994.
