Johnson, Pamela Hansford
Johnson, Pamela Hansford (1912–81), critic and novelist. In 1950 she married C. P. Snow. She is perhaps most widely known for her comic ‘Dorothy Merlin’ trilogy, a satire on the pretensions of literary life, which consists of The Unspeakable Skipton (1959), Night and Silence, Who is Here (1962), and Cork Street, Next to the Hatter's (1965).
