Ostland (2)
Ostland (2), abbreviation of Ostdeutsche Landbewirtschaftungs gesellschaft (East German Land Development Society), a German agricultural organization created in February 1940 to colonize certain Polish regions, and also parts of occupied France where it concentrated on developing land abandoned by smallholders, Jews, and refugees.

Ostland (1)
Ostland (1), one of the two military Reich Commissariats established under Alfred Rosenberg as Reich Minister for the Occupied Eastern Territories, the Reich Commissariat Ukraine being the other (see Map 80). It consisted of the Baltic States, parts of Belorussia, and part of eastern Poland (see also Germany, 4).
