Orense
Orense, Argentina, Spain Spain (Galicia): a province and a town whose name is thought to have evolved from the original Roman name of Aquae Originis ‘Waters of the Source’, a reference to its unusually hot springs. Other former names include Urentae and Aurium. It is unlikely that it comes, as has been suggested, from oro, the legendary ‘gold’ of the River Miño.
