Ordinary of the Mass
Ordinary of the Mass (Lat., ordo missae). The (almost) invariable parts of the mass, comprising the preparatory prayers, Kyrie, Gloria and Creed, the Preface and Sanctus, the canon, Lord's Prayer, fraction and Agnus Dei, and part of the communion and post-communion devotions. It is distinguished from the proper.

Ordinary of the Mass
Ordinary of the Mass (Lat. Ordo Missae). Until recently the term was used to describe the invariable or almost invariable parts of the Mass, as distinguished from the parts which varied with the ecclesiastical calendar. The 1970 Missale Romanum applies the term ‘Ordo Missae’ to the whole service.
