Nisan

Nisan The first month of the Jewish year (Neh. 2: 1) according to the later reckoning which began the year in the spring, corresponding to March in Europe, during which (on the 15th) the Passover was celebrated. The name was adopted from Babylonia after the Exile and formerly was known as the month Abib, a Canaanite name.

Nisan. The opening month of the Jewish year, roughly corresponding to April. It was the month in which the Passover was held, the Passover lamb being slain on the 14th day of Nisan.
