nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate

nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP) A phosphorylated derivative of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD), which functions as a hydrogen acceptor in the light stage of photosynthesis and is subsequently involved in the reduction of carbon dioxide in the dark reactions. It is a coenzyme in the reaction involving the oxidation of ferrodoxin by NADP reductase.
