Monemvasía
Monemvasía, Greece Minoa The name comes from the fact that the town is situated at the foot of a rock that is joined to the mainland by a causeway: thus, ‘Town with only one Entrance’ from moni embasis. Known to the English as Malmsey, it has given its name to a strong, sweet wine originally from this part of the Peloponnese.
