Methuselah
Methuselah The longest-living ancestor of the Hebrews (Gen. 5: 27) according to the P source of the tradition—though his 969 years were shortened to 720 by the Samaritan text. The fabulous longevity of some of the ancestors was intended to imply an immense distance in time between the Creation (Gen. 1) and the Flood (Gen. 6).
