Mark Lemon

Lemon, Mark

Lemon, Mark (1809–70), a founder and first editor of Punch, from 1841 until his death. He wrote prolifically for the stage, and collaborated with Dickens in Mr Nightingale's Diary (1851), a one-act farce with both authors in the cast.

Mark Lemon

Mark Lemon 1809–70, English editor and humorist. He was a founder of Punch in 1841 and one of its first editors. Besides contributing to periodicals, he wrote more than 60 plays, none of them memorable.
