Mappa Mundi

Mappa Mundi

Mappa Mundi a map of the world of a kind produced in the medieval and early Renaissance periods, typically depicting Jerusalem at its centre, and featuring details of cosmology, mythology, and history. A famous example is a 13th-century circular map, preserved in Hereford Cathedral in England. The name comes from medieval Latin, literally ‘sheet of the world’.
