Lydia

Lydia Paul's first convert in Europe; she was a gentile attracted to Judaism; possibly a freedwoman and a widow; she sold purple-dyed cloth, and was sufficiently well-off to give Paul and Silas hospitality at Philippi (Acts 16: 15, 40).
