Lunar Module
Lunar Module The spacecraft in which Apollo astronauts landed on the Moon. It consisted of two halves: the descent stage, with four legs and an engine to control the landing on the Moon; and the ascent stage, in which two astronauts rode. After exploring the Moon's surface, the astronauts took off in the ascent stage to rejoin the third astronaut in the Command Module orbiting above. See also apollo project.
