Long Telegram
Long Telegram a telegram sent from Moscow to Washington and written by U.S. diplomat George F. Kennan on February 22, 1946, at the start of the Cold War. It discussed Soviet foreign policy and post-war Soviet ideology on international relations, as well as the potential effects of U.S. foreign policy. Kennan concluded that a policy of opposition and the containment of Soviet power was necessary.
