Lóegaire mac Néill
Lóegaire mac Néill. King of Tara (427/8–462/3) who was converted to Christianity by St Patrick. A son of Niall Noígiallach [of the Nine Hostages], he is the earliest king of Ireland whose dates can be known with reasonable accuracy. When he was told that he would die between Ériu [Ireland] and Alba [Scotland], he refused to go to sea. When he was killed fighting the Lagin he was between two hills named Ére and Alba in the plain of the Liffey.

Lóegaire mac Néill
Lóegaire mac Néill (d. 462 according to the Annals of Ulster). Lóegaire is portrayed in 7th‐century and later sources as the son of Niall Noígiallach and as king of Ireland during St Patrick's mission. The texts differ as to whether Lóegaire himself converted to Christianity. He is also depicted in early legal sources as the king who presided over the creation of a synthesized law‐code, amalgamating Christian and native Irish material.
