Levallois‐Perret
Levallois‐Perret, Paris/France In 1867 four communities merged to form the city; one was Levallois, named after its founder, Nicolas‐Eugène Levallois (1816–79), and another was Champerret which took its name from the Latin campus petrosus ‘stony ground’. This coincided happily with the name of a previous landowner, Jacques Perret, and so his name was added to Levallois to give the new city its name.
