Lepus

Lepus (abbr. Lep, gen. Leporis) A constellation of the southern sky, representing a hare. Its brightest star is Alpha Leporis (Arneb). R Leporis is Hind's Crimson Star, a deep-red variable. M79 is a globular cluster; NGC 2017 is a small open cluster, actually a complex multiple star with five components visible in moderate-sized telescopes.
