Michaels, Leonard

Michaels, Leonard (1933– ),born in New York City, a professor of English at the University of California, Berkeley, is the author of collections of short stories, Going Places (1969) and I Would Have Saved Them If I Could (1975), and the novel The Men's Club (1981), about a rambunctious night out of a gathering of chauvinist males in California, that he recast as a film (1986). He also wrote a play, City Boy (1985) that was adapted from some of his stories.
