Lamentations of Jeremiah
Lamentations of Jeremiah. This OT Book deals with the desolation of Judah after the destruction of Jerusalem c.586 BC. Modern scholars tend to reject the attribution of the Book to Jeremiah, though it probably originated in his lifetime. Christians commonly interpret it in reference to Christ's Passion; in the W. it is used in the liturgy of Holy Week.
