LXX
LXX The symbol employed for the Septuagint, a Greek translation of the OT, on account of the legend that it was the work of seventy (or seventy-two) scholars in as many days, in Alexandria. More probably, it was done less rapidly at some time between 285 and 150 BCE, and was frequently revised. There are numerous differences between the LXX text and the Hebrew Masoretic text. The LXX, containing the books of the Apocrypha, became the scriptures of the early Christians.
