Kennebunkport
Kennebunkport , town (1990 pop. 1,100), York co., S Maine, on the Atlantic coast; settled 1629, inc. 1653. The early town, called Arundel, appears in Kenneth Roberts's books; the name was changed in 1821. The town is a summer resort, especially for authors, artists, and actors. It is also the vacation home of former President George H. W. Bush, dubbed the "summer White House" because of the frequent meetings there between Bush and his political advisers and other world leaders. |

Kennebunkport
Kennebunkport, Maine/USA Arundel Although settled in 1629, it only received the name Arundel in 1717. It was renamed in 1821 from a Native American word said to mean ‘Long Water Place’ or ‘Long Beach’.
