Kedesh
Kedesh Several cities have this name in the OT: (1) The town from which Deborah summoned Barak (Judg. 4: 6). (2) A town in Galilee established for refugees from the private vengeance of members of a family seeking retribution for a supposed injury (Josh. 20: 7). (3) A city in the south of Judah (Josh. 15: 23).
The name, like that of Kadesh, means ‘holy’, and thus it is likely that each of these places had a sanctuary. |
