Mattila, Karita (Marjatta) (b Somero, 1960). Finn. soprano. Sang Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at Savonlinna 1981 while student. Début with Finn. Nat. Opera 1982 (Countess in Le nozze di Figaro). Won the first Cardiff Singer of the World comp. 1983. Débuts: Amer. (Washington DC) 1983); CG 1986; Salzburg Fest. 1987; NY Met 1990.
