Wexley, John
Wexley, John (1907–85), New York dramatist, whose plays include The Last Mile (1930), dealing with the last days of a condemned prisoner; Steel (1931); They Shall Not Die (1934), concerned with the Scottsboro case; and Running Dogs (1938), dealing with the struggle between Chinese conservatives and Communists prior to the Japanese invasion. The Judgment of Julius and Ethel Rosenberg (1955) is a work of nonfiction.
