Gaultier, Jean-Paul

Gaultier, Jean-Paul (1952– ) French fashion designer. At the age of 18, he went to work for designer Pierre Cardin. In 1977, Gaultier launched his first collection. His designs for men and women convey an anarchic sense of humour, mixing textures and cuts with unconventional features. He designs for films, and created Madonna's costumes for her world tour in 1990.
