Jared
Jared ♂ Biblical name (probably meaning ‘descent’ in Hebrew), borne by a descendant of Adam (Genesis 5:15). According to the Book of Genesis, he became the father of Enoch at the age of 162, and lived for a further eight hundred years. This name was occasionally used by the Puritans. It was briefly revived in the 1960s and again more recently.
