Japheth
Japheth. Third son of Noah in Genesis 5: 32. The Irish pseudo-history Lebor Gabála [Book of Invasions] often cites Japheth's name in seeking to co-ordinate barely remembered native history and the biblical story of creation. Nemed, a mythical invader of early Ireland, is described as his descendant. Early genealogists also cite Japheth as an ancestor of historical families.
