Ibn Khalikan or Ahmad bin Muhammad al-Barmaki al-Irbili ash-Shafii, 1211-82, Arabic biographer, b. in Erbil, Iraq. Ibn Khallikan lived and served as a judge and scholar in Mamluk Egypt and Syria.
