USA (Alabama): originally Twickenham after the home town of the English poet, Alexander Pope (1688–1744), it was renamed in 1811 after John Hunt who fought in the American War of Independence (1775–83) and first settled the area in 1805.2. USA (Texas): founded as a trading post in 1830 and named after the founder's hometown in Alabama.

Huntsville town (1991 pop. 14,997), SE Ont., Canada, on the Muskoka River. It has lumber mills and a woodworking plant, but it is sustained mainly by its year-round tourist trade.
