Hingham, UK, USA 1. UK (England): formerly Hincham and Heingeham, probably ‘Hega's Homestead’ from an Old English personal name, ‐inga‐ and hām.2. USA (Massachusetts): founded in 1633 as Barecove Common and two years later named after the town in England from which some settlers had come.
