Fierstein, Harvey
Fierstein, Harvey (1954–), playwright, author of Torch Song Trilogy (1981), a breakthrough serious drama about homosexuals, made into a movie (1988) with the playwright as lead. He adapted from the French La Cage Aux Folles (1983), a comic musical with homosexual characters. Other plays are Safe Sex (1987) and Spook House (1987).
