Hanyang

Hanyang, Hubei/China The first syllable comes from Hàn, the Chinese people, the Han, and the second, yáng ‘sun’. It lies to the north, the sunny side, of the Han River. It is one of the three cities that make up the conurbation of Wuhan: Hanyang, Hankou, and Wuchang.

Hanyang

Hanyang , former city, now part (since 1950) of the Wuhan conurbation, E Hubei prov., China, on the right bank of the Han River at its junction with the Chang. It is a heavy industrial center. Hanyang was founded during the Sui dynasty (AD 581-618). It is linked by bridge with Hankou.
