Foster, Hannah Webster
Foster, Hannah Webster (1759–1840), wife of a Massachusetts clergyman, was the author of The Coquette (1797), a popular sentimental novel, and The Boarding School; or, Lessons of a Preceptress to Her Pupils (1798), a series of didactic lectures to young ladies.
