Hallandale
Hallandale , city (1990 pop. 30,996), Broward co., SE Fla., on the Atlantic coast and the Intracoastal Waterway ; settled 1897, inc. 1927. A retirement center, it is especially popular with French Canadians. Horse and greyhound racetracks are major sources of employment; Gulf Stream Park is the site of the annual Florida Derby. |

Hallandale, Florida/USA Founded by Scandinavian farmers in the 1890s, it is named after one of the employees in the trading post, Luther Halland.
