George Cattermole

George Cattermole

George Cattermole 1800–1868, English watercolor painter and illustrator. His subject matter was varied, and his works were popular during his lifetime. He painted picturesque scenes of antique subjects in a romantic mode. He made illustrations for some of Dickens's works, including Barnaby Rudge. Cattermole is represented in most of the important British galleries.
