Fuente Obejuna or Fuenteovejuna , town (1990 pop. 6,833), Córdoba prov., S Spain, in Andalusia. An important farm center with livestock-raising and food-processing industries, the town is especially noted for its honey. Lumber, coal, and lead are exploited in the area. In 1430, Fuente Obejuna was given to the Knights of Calatrava . The revolt of the people against a tyrannical governor is the subject of a play by Lope de Vega Carpio.
