Pforr, Franz
Pforr, Franz (b Frankfurt, 5 Apr. 1788; d Albano, nr. Rome, 16 June 1812). German painter. He was one of the founders of the Nazarenes and moved to Rome with other members of the group in 1810. Two years later he died of tuberculosis. His work evokes a fairy-tale type of medievalism, with bright colours and picturesque details. It is best represented in the Städelsches Kunstinstitut, Frankfurt.

Pforr, Franz
Pforr, Franz (1788–1812). German painter. He was one of the founders of the Nazarenes and moved to Rome with other members of the group in 1810. Two years later he died of tuberculosis.
