Foligno, Umbria/Italy Fulginium According to tradition, the town is named after Bishop Feliciano who was martyred and buried here c.251. A small church was built and later, surrounded by a wall and towers, it became the ‘Castle of St Feliciani’ and then the ‘Town of St Feliciani’. The name evolved into Fulginae with the Roman town being called Fulginium.
