Fáelán, Faolán, Foalán, Foilan [OIr. fáel, wolf]. Name borne by dozens of figures in early Irish history, mythology, and genealogy, including fourteen saints, and no fewer than ten members of the Fianna of Fionn mac Cumhaill, of whom the best known is Fáelán mac Finn.
