Grasser, Erasmus
Grasser, Erasmus (b Schmidmuhlen, nr. Regensburg, c.1450; d Munich, Apr./May 1518). German sculptor, active mainly in Munich. He worked in an animated and expressive late Gothic style and was the leading sculptor of his day in south Bavaria, with a flourishing workshop and numerous pupils. His best-known works are ten (originally sixteen) limewood figures of morris dancers for the ballroom of the old town hall in Munich (1480, Stadtmuseum, Munich). Grasser was also an architect and hydraulic engineer.

Grasser, Erasmus
Grasser, Erasmus (c.1450–1518). German sculptor, active mainly in Munich. He worked in an animated and expressive late Gothic style and was the leading sculptor of his day in south Bavaria, with a flourishing workshop and numerous pupils. His best-known works are ten (originally sixteen) limewood figures of morris dancers for the ballroom of the old town hall in Munich (1480, Stadtmuseum, Munich).
