Jeremy, Epistle of
Jeremy, Epistle of, or Letter of Jeremiah. A short item in the OT Apocrypha. In what purports to be a letter, Jeremiah declaims to the exiles in Babylon against the folly of idol-worship. It was probably written in Greek in the 3rd or 2nd cent. BC. In the Vulgate and some English Bibles it appears as Bar. 6.

Jeremy, Epistle of
Jeremy, Epistle of. Jewish apocryphal book. The date is uncertain (4th–2nd cent. BCE). It purports to be a letter of the prophet Jeremiah to the Jewish exiles in Babylon.
