El Ferrol

El Ferrol, Galicia/Spain El Ferrol del Caudillo Takes its name from the Spanish faro ‘lighthouse’ which used to mark the entrance to the harbour. The birthplace of General Francisco Franco (1892–75), Spanish leader (caudillo) (1939–75), del Caudillo was added in 1939; it was removed in the 1980s.
